The David Bellamy Conservation Award first started in 1996 when Professor David Bellamy approached the BH&HPA regarding the possibility of launching a scheme for the holiday parks industry to encourage sustainable tourism and raise awareness of good environmental management.
Prospective parks are assessed by Professor Bellamy himself, in conjunction with the Conservation Foundation and supported by independent surveys carried out by local wildlife or conservation groups. If the parks are really making their mark on the road to environmental excellence, they are awarded a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award.
The public also play a part in the assessment by sending in comments and suggestions regarding the environmental credentials of the parks they stay at. Here are some of the comments and suggestions sent in about Manorafon Holiday Park from our guests.

This is a lovely site in quiet secluded position. It has an abundance of bird life with a lovely pair of buzzards, plenty of jays and peregrine falcons. It is well kept and offers peace and relaxation.

The park is ideally situated near the beach at Penbryn. The facilities are excellent. Buzzards, red kite and peregrine nest near here. The Owners are very friendly and helpful.
